This article was previously published under Q151236 SYMPTOMS
A Windows NT system with two or more network adapters installed running
Gateway Services for NetWare or Client Services for NetWare will only be
able to see NetWare servers on one of the network segments.
CAUSE
Client Services for NetWare and Gateway Services for NetWare emulate a
Novell NetWare client. They attach to a default or preferred server
through the first network card in the binding list. They then ask that
server for a list of other servers using the Service Advertising Protocol
(SAP) Windows NT is only able to connect to servers that are in its
default or preferred server's SAP table. If the segment that the default
server is on is not routed or bridged to the other segments, the server
will not know about the servers on those segments. To see what servers the
default server knows about, type 'DISPLAY SERVERS' at the NetWare console.
RESOLUTION
This behavior is by design. To see all the servers on the network, you
must route or bridge between all of the segments.
