Works 95: Out of Memory Error Opening Works 3.0 Database in 4.0 (150888)

SYMPTOMS

When you open a Works 3.0 database in Works 4.0, you may receive the following error message:

Cannot load the entire document.
Using the application that created the document, try separating the document into smaller sections and saving them.

This problem may be caused by an extremely complex Form view with more than 256 items, including fields, labels, pictures, or other items.

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in Works for Windows version 4.0.

This problem was corrected in Works version 4.0a.

You can work around this problem by opening the file in Works 3.0 and simplifying the Form view by removing unnecessary items.
