TMGR: Schedule+ Repeatedly Shows Select Local Schedule Dialog (150674)

This article was previously published under Q150674 SYMPTOMS
If Microsoft Team Manager for team members and Microsoft Schedule+ are
installed on the same computer, and if the "Keep copies of tasks in
Schedule+" option is enabled, then, when Microsoft Team Manager for team
members is started, it attempts to run Schedule+ in the background.
If Schedule+ has never been run before, or if Schedule+ is configured to
use a local schedule file that cannot be found, then Schedule+ displays the
"Select Local Schedule" dialog box repeatedly until a local schedule file
is created or specified, or the option not to use a local schedule file is
selected, or until Schdpl32.exe is closed using the Windows task list.
NOTE: Closing Microsoft Team Manager for team members, or clicking the
Cancel button in the "Select Local Schedule" dialog box, does not stop the
"Select Local Schedule" dialog box from being displayed again.
MORE INFORMATION
The first time Microsoft Schedule+ is run, there are options to create or
specify a local schedule file, or to use a schedule file on a mail server
instead of using a local one. The problem occurs if Microsoft Schedule+ was
never run after it was installed, or if it is configured to use a local
schedule file that cannot be found. There is never a problem if Schedule+
is configured to use a schedule file on the mail server; that schedule file
is created automatically if it cannot be found.
WORKAROUND
When the "Select Local Schedule" dialog box appears, select the option to
create a new local schedule file or the option to specify an existing one.
Alternatively, close Microsoft Team Manager for team members, and use the
Windows task list to end Schdpl32.exe; then, restart Microsoft Schedule+,
and when prompted, select one of the options to create or specify an
existing local schedule file, or the option not to use a local schedule
file. Then, close Microsoft Schedule+ and restart Microsoft Team Manager
for team members. The alternative approach is necessary if a local schedule
file is not to be used.
NOTE: To use Microsoft Team Manager for team members without using
synchronization to Microsoft Schedule+, start Team Manager for team
members, click the Options button, and click to clear the "Keep copies of
tasks in Schedule+" option.
