TMGR: Cannot Copy and Paste a Column (150251)

SYMPTOMS

You cannot copy an entire column and paste the results into another column in your team file.

If you need to copy a column of information, do the following.

Suppose you need to copy the Start column and paste the results into the Baseline Start column.

  1. Start your selection at row one in the Start cell, and continue your selection down until all the tasks' Start cells are selected.
  2. On the Edit menu, click Copy.
  3. Click the Baseline Start cell in the first row.
  4. On the Edit menu, click Paste.
If you want to use direct manipulation to move a column to another location in your team file, you can either cut and paste or drag the column to the new location.

To cut and paste a column, do the following:

  1. Select the column.
  2. On the Edit menu, click Cut.
  3. Select the column to the right of where you want the column to be pasted.
  4. On the Edit menu, click Paste.
To drag a column, click the column and drag it to new destination. On the screen, a thick gray gridline highlights the column where the drop target is.
