TMGR: Problems Modifying Open Team File in Another Application (149887)

SYMPTOMS

In Microsoft Team Manager, there is no mechanism to prevent the modification of an open team file by another application that supports the Microsoft Team Manager database format. Changing the data in an open team file with another application may cause unpredictable problems.

MORE INFORMATION

Microsoft Team Manager uses the .MDB file format used by Microsoft Access. Opening a team file that is currently in use is possible, and no warnings are issued.

NOTE: This does not apply when only Microsoft Team Manager is used to open the same team file on different computers.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article. We are researching this problem and will post more information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
