SYMPTOMS

When you use Microsoft Access to delete a record in a plan that you created in Microsoft Team Manager, and then reopen the plan in Microsoft Team Manager, you may receive the following message:
This program has performed an illegal operation and will be shut down. If the problem persists, contact the program vendor.
If you click Details, a message similar to the following appears:
TEAMMGR caused an invalid page fault in module TEAMMGR.EXE at 0137:7765b059.

CAUSE

This problem occurs when all the following conditions are met:

  • You create and save a plan in Team Manager that contains several tasks on the Task tab. -and-

  • You quit Team Manager, and open the plan in Microsoft Access. -and-

  • You double-click the Task table, select a task, click Delete Record on the Edit menu, and quit Microsoft Access. -and-

  • You reopen the plan in Team Manager.

WORKAROUND

Although it is not possible to recover the task information from the plan (unless you have a backup of the file), you may recover team member information. To do so, follow these steps:

  1. Start Team Manager.
  2. In the "What do you want to do" dialog box, click "Create a new team file."
  3. When you are prompted if you want to copy team information from an existing team file, click Yes, and then click OK.
  4. In the New Team File dialog box, click the "Yes, from a previously saved team file," and click OK. Select the original team plan, and then click Open.
  5. In the "Select the name and location of the new team file" dialog box, in the File Name box, type a new file name for the plan, and then click Save.
You can now open the original file in Microsoft Access and copy and paste the task information to the new Team Manager plan.

NOTE: Opening Team Manager documents in Microsoft Access is not supported.
