Features Differences
   --------------------------------------------------------------------
Spreadsheet Features The external references, named
                              cells, rows, columns, or ranges,
                              multiple fonts and font sizes,
                              shaded cells, and linked
                              spreadsheets features are not
                              available in Works 4.0.

                              Works can, however, read
                              Microsoft Excel spreadsheets
                              that contain named cells.

Microsoft Excel creates the same types
of charts as Works plus several
                              additional chart types, including
3-D types in the newer versions of
                              Microsoft Excel.

Formula Operators Microsoft Works does not support
                              the intersection, union, or concatenation
                              operators used in Microsoft Excel.

Formula Error Values Error values are different
                              in Works and Microsoft Excel.

Arithmetic Results Extremely large and extremely
Produced by Built-In small numbers may produce small
   Functions differences in calculation
                              results due to the different
                              internal representations and
                              methods of performing arithmetic
                              used by Works and Microsoft
                              Excel.

Implementation of The functions Hlookup(), Index(),
Functions Lookup(), Match(), Type(), and Vlookup()
                              are implemented differently in
                              Works. In Microsoft Excel,
IsError() returns TRUE if the argument
is #N/A, while Works returns 0.

Logical Values The functions And(), Or(), Not(), True(),
and False() return the values TRUE or
FALSE in Microsoft Excel, but return
                              1 or 0 in Works.

Additional Conversion The conversion files included with Works
Files are from the MacLinkPlus Library, a
                              product of DataViz, Inc.
