Files and Folders That Are Never Removed
The following files and folders are never removed by the Remove All option
in Maintenance Setup. This article assumes that Works is installed into the
C:\Program Files\Msworks folder.
Folder: C:\Program Files\Msworks
The Msworks folder is never removed.
Folder: C:\Program Files\Msworks\Setup4x
The Setup4x folder is never removed.
Folder: C:\Program Files\Msworks\Template
If any custom templates were created in Works, the Template folder and the
custom templates themselves are not removed.
Folder: C:\Program Files\Msworks\Documents
If any new documents were created in Works, the Documents folder and the
documents themselves are not removed.
Folder: C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Artgalry
If the clipart gallery was used in Works, the following file is not
removed:
Folder: C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Proof
If any words have been added to the custom dictionary during a spell check,
the following file is not removed:

Files and Folders of Shared Components That Are Not Removed
Windows 95 programs which use shared components place an entry
in the Registry that lists the program as a client for the shared
component. This entry prevents a setup program from removing the shared
component if another program that uses it is still installed on the system.
For example, if Microsoft Office 95 is installed on a system, Works 4.0
Setup will not remove the Clipart Gallery files because Office 95 uses
those files too.
The following files and folders are not removed by the Remove All option in
the Works 4.x Maintenance Setup if another Windows 95 program which uses
the shared components is still installed on the system.
