When you print a document that contains the Filename field with the \p
switch from the Find File Search Results dialog box, the file name and path
are not printed.
WORKAROUND
To work around this problem, use any of the following methods.
Method 1:
Open the document and then print it using the Print command
(File menu) or the Print button on the Standard toolbar.
Method 2:
Manually type the path and file name in the header instead of
using the Filename field.
Method 3:
Unlink the field. To do this, select the field and press
CTRL+SHIFT+F9 (Windows) or COMMAND+SHIFT+F9 (Macintosh).
Method 4:
Clear the Background Printing option (Windows only). To do this,
click Options on the Tools menu, click the Print tab, clear the
Background Printing check box, and then click OK.
Method 5:
Remove the \p switch from the Filename field. (NOTE: This method
prints only the document name.)
STATUS
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Word for Windows and Word
for the Macintosh. This problem was corrected in Word, version 7.0 for
Windows 95.
