    A. To quickly find a misplaced Works document on your computer, open the Works Task Launcher, click the Existing Documents tab, and then click Help me find a document. In the Named box, type the name of the file, and then click Find Now.

    A. To copy a Works document to a different folder:
    1. On the File menu, click Open.
    2. In the Look in box, click the folder that contains the file you want to copy.
    3. In the list of files, right-click the file you want to copy, and then click Copy.

    5. On the File menu, click Paste.

    A. To copy a Works document to a floppy disk:
    1. Insert a formatted floppy disk with sufficient available space to store the document into the floppy driver.

    4. Right-click the document you want to copy to the floppy disk, click Send To, and then click the drive to which you want to send the document.

    A. Moving a Works document is nearly identical to copying it. The difference is when you copy, you end up with two copies of the file, one at the original location, and one at the new location. When you move a file, you end up with only one copy of it at the new location.

    1. On the File menu, click Open.
    2. In the Look in box, click the folder that contains the file you want to copy.
    3. In the list of files, right-click the file you want to move, and then click Cut.
    4. In the Look in box, click the folder into which you want to move the file.
    5. On the File menu, click Paste.
    6. If you want to open the document, click Open. If you do not want to open the document, click Cancel.
  5. Q. How do I rename a Works document?

    A. To rename a Works document:
    1. On the File menu, click Open.
    2. In the Look in box, click the folder that contains the file you want to rename.
    3. In the list of files, right-click the file you want to rename, and then click Rename.
    4. Type a new name for the file, and then press ENTER.
    5. If you want to open the document, click Open. If you do not want to open the document, click Cancel.

    A. To delete a Works document:
    1. On the File menu, click Open.
    2. In the Look in box, click the folder that contains the file you want to delete.
    3. In the list of files, right-click the file you want to delete, and then click Delete. If you are prompted to confirm the deletion, click Yes.
    4. Click Cancel.

    A. The files listed at the bottom of the File menu are merely a list of the four most recently used files. If you delete a file, its name may still appear on the most recently used files list. To remove a file from most recently used files list, open four other Works files to push the file you don't want off the list.
  8. Q. Can I create a new folder for storing Works documents?

    A. Yes. To create a new folder:
    1. On the File menu, click Open.
    2. Click Create New Folder.
    3. Type a name for your new folder, and then press ENTER.
  9. Q. How do I change the default folder in which Works stores documents?

    A. To change the default folder in which Works stores documents:

    1. Right-click Start, and then click Explore.
    2. In the Folders pane, under the Start Menu folder, click the PLUS SIGN (+) next to the Programs folder to expand the branch.
    3. Under the Programs branch, click the Microsoft Works folder.
    4. On the right side of the screen, right-click the Microsoft Works, and then click Properties.
    5. In the Start in box, type the new path to the default folder, and then click OK.
    NOTE: On a Microsoft Windows 98-based computer, the default folder you select must contain at least one Works document.
