PRJ41: Mail Error Using Set Reminder (140315)

SYMPTOMS

In Microsoft Project, when you use the Set Reminder workgroup feature to set a reminder for a resource working on a task, you may receive the following error message:
A mail error has occurred.

CAUSE

This error message may be displayed if the resource already has an appointment in Schedule+ on the same date and time as the start of the task, and if the Disallow Overlapping Appointments setting is enabled in Schedule+.

WORKAROUND

To work around this problem, use the following steps to disable the Disallow Overlapping Appointments setting in Schedule+:

  1. Start Schedule+.
  2. On the Tools menu, click Set Access Permissions, and then click the Global tab.
  3. Clear the Disallow Overlapping Appointments check box. Click OK.

In Microsoft Project, the Set Reminder feature creates appointments with reminders in Schedule+ for the resources assigned to the selected tasks. To use this feature, select some tasks in Microsoft Project, and on the Tools menu, click Workgroup. Then, click Set Reminder to bring up Schedule+ Reminders.
