This article was previously published under Q139319 SYMPTOMS
When you play an animation in Encarta, the screen colors may appear faded
or unusual, and the border around the animation may be pink.
CAUSE
This behavior can occur if Encarta cannot change the display color palette
to 16 colors.
RESOLUTIONSTATUS
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Encarta 1994, 1995, 1996,
and 1997.
MORE INFORMATION
To correctly play an animation, Encarta needs to change the display color
palette to 16 colors. If Encarta cannot change the display color palette,
the animation plays with distorted colors.
This issue can occur on certain Power Macintosh computers with high
performance video cards installed.
