This article was previously published under Q139014 SYMPTOMS Money allows you to enter stock splits. Occasionally, a
negative stock split may occur because fewer shares exist after the split than
existed before the split. In this case, if you enter a decimal
fraction (such as .05) for the number of shares received for each share in a
stock split, you receive one of the following error messages. In Money 99 or
earlier, you may receive the following error message:
Please enter a number between 1 and 65,535. In Money 2000 or later,
you may receive the following error message: Please
enter a whole number between 1 and 65,535. RESOLUTION Multiply both the shares received and the shares
surrendered by an integer that converts the fractional number into a whole
number. For example, if a negative stock split grants 0.024 shares
for each share, multiply both numbers by 1,000 to give the result that shares
will be split 24 shares for every 1,000 shares. For more information
