File Extension Disappears in Open Dialog Box (134812)

In the Open dialog box (File menu), when you switch focus away from the
File Name box, the file extension disappears. For example, if you type
*.doc in the File Name box, and you select another option in the dialog
box (for example if you select an option in the Last Modified box), the
extension disappears from the File Name box.
CAUSE
The extension is associated with one of the file types in the Files Of Type
list.
MORE INFORMATION
When the extension is not associated with a file type, the extension does
not disappear when you switch focus away from the File Name box.
