Works 3.0: How to Fit 4 or 5 Lines per Label on 1" Labels (132456)
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Works 3.0
- Microsoft Works 3.0a
- Microsoft Works 3.0b
This article was previously published under Q132456 SYMPTOMS
Labels in Works versions 3.0a and 3.0b allow fewer printed lines than
labels in earlier versions of Works.
CAUSE
The label formatting method was changed in Works for Windows 3.0a to
prevent text from flowing into following labels. A result of that change is
that less space is allocated for each label.
WORKAROUND
Use a smaller font to fit additional information on the label.
For example, with Works for Windows 3.0, a 12-point Times
New Roman font allows four lines to print on a one-inch label.
In versions 3.0a and 3.0b, you must use a 10 or 11-point font to fit four
lines on the label, and an 8 or 9-point font to print five lines on the
label. Note: the font size required depends on the printer and font
selected.
