Toshiba T3100 Screen Is Black After Video Resolution Change (129390)

After you change the video resolution on a Toshiba T3100 computer to
a resolution higher than 256 colors, the screen may go black when you
restart Windows 95.
CAUSE
The built-in screen on the Toshiba T3100 computer does not support more
than 256 colors. This computer does support 64,000 (16-bit) colors when
you use an external monitor.
RESOLUTION
To correct the problem, follow these steps:
- Restart the computer.
- When you see the "Starting Windows 95" message, press the F5 key to
start Windows 95 in Safe mode.
- Change the video resolution to 256 colors or less.
- Restart Windows 95 normally.
