This article was previously published under Q128975 SYMPTOMS
The Headings row in a database report does not show the correct information
when you print or print preview the report.
The heading is correct for the first page, but not for the following pages.
For example, the heading for page one is displayed on page two.
CAUSE
The problem occurs when you select all the following options:
- Sort records with a Grouping (Works 4.0, 4.5, and 4.5a) or Break
(Works 3.0) option set.
- Insert a field entry into a cell in the Headings row.
- Insert a page break on the Summ <fieldname> row.
The page break before the Summ <fieldname> row causes incorrect report printing. A page break means the first non-Headings row that prints on the page is the Summ <fieldname> row from the previous page. Since field entries in the Headings row match the record data from the first row to print on the page, the Headings row also reflects the data from the
previous page.
RESOLUTION
Use Intr <fieldname> rows to print your group headings.
- Clear the =<fieldname> data from the Headings
row.
- Works 4.0, 4.0a, 4.5, and 4.5a: From the Insert menu, click
Insert Row.
Works 3.0: From the Insert menu, click Row/Column.
Then, select Row and click OK. - From the Insert Row dialog box, click Intr
<fieldname>.
- Enter =<fieldname> into the appropriate
cell in the Intr <fieldname> row.
The group headings should now print or print preview correctly for each
page.
