This article contains a Microsoft Visual Basic for Applications procedure that lets you print different parts of a worksheet without first having to select the range of cells or set the print area in the Page Setup dialog box.

When you run the following procedure, you are prompted to enter a range of cells to print. You can enter a name that refers to a range of cells on a particular sheet or the range itself (for example A1:C15). You may also specify multiple ranges by separating each range with a comma. Before you run the macro, the workbook that you want to print from must be the active 

   Sub Print_Area()

       Dim My_Range As String

       On Error Resume Next 'enables error handling

       My_Range = InputBox("Enter the name of the area to print:")

       'if Cancel is chosen then InputBox returns empty string
       If Len(My_Range) > 0 Then Range(My_Range).PrintOut

       If Err > 0 Then MsgBox "Name or range specified is not valid."
