WD: Using the Split Subdocument Icon May Create Empty Documents (121108)

These documents are often saved as M.DOC or M#.DOC, where # represents a
number starting at 1.
WORKAROUND
Click the subdocument icon, and then press DELETE to remove any empty
subdocuments.
STATUS
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the versions of Microsoft
Word listed at the beginning of this article.
