When you run Setup to install Word for the Macintosh, the following error
message may appear:
Not enough memory to continue "MacSetup" - try increasing "MacSetup"
memory and try again.
CAUSE
Microsoft has reproduced this problem with the Alarm Clock and Movie Player
running in the background. Note that the error message is misleading,
because no file named "MacSetup" exists.
WORKAROUND
Before you run Setup to install Word for the Macintosh, you must restart
your Macintosh without extensions, and no other programs should be running.
(To start without extensions, hold down the SHIFT key when you start the
Macintosh. When you see the message "Welcome to Macintosh Extensions Off,"
you can release the SHIFT key.)
STATUS
Microsoft is researching this problem and will post new information here in
the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
