SYMPTOMS

When printing labels from Works, the printer may skip several rows of labels and continue printing labels on the top of the next page.

RESOLUTION

There are two common causes for this problem:
  • The paper source is set incorrectly on a dot matrix printer.
  • A custom label's Down Page or Page Length setting is incorrect.
The resolutions are listed below:

Paper source is set incorrectly on a dot matrix printer

  1. From the File menu in Works, choose Page Setup.
  2. In the Page Setup dialog box, choose the Source, Size, And Orientation tab.
  3. Select the correct option in Paper Source. For example, if the Paper Source is set to Manual Feed and you are using tractor fed labels, change the Paper Source to Tractor Feed.
  4. Choose OK.

Custom Label's Down Page or Page Length Setting Incorrect

  1. Open the Word Processor label document in Works.
  2. From the Tools menu, choose Envelopes And Labels.
  3. Choose the Custom Labels Button.
  4. Verify that the Down Page text box correctly indicates the number of rows of labels that are on the page you are using. Choose OK.
  5. Verify that the Page Length text box correctly indicates the length of the page you are using.
  6. Choose OK, then choose Change Label.
