SUMMARY

Database fields and spreadsheet cells hold no more than 15 significant digits.

MORE INFORMATION

Any number entered into a spreadsheet cell or database field retains only the number of significant digits on the left; any additional digits on the right are replaced with zeros.

For example, if you type the number 1234567890123456789 in a spreadsheet cell, Works changes the number in the formula bar to 1234567890123450000.

WORKAROUND

Enter the number as text by placing a quotation mark (") in front of the number (for example, "1234567890123456789). Note that the number cannot be used in mathematical computations or functions while it is in text form.

In Works 2.0 and 3.0, each cell or field can hold up to 255 text characters. In Works 4.0, 4.5, and 4.5a, each cell or field can hold up to 2,047 text characters, except for default value fields in the database, which are restricted to 255 characters.
