ACC2: Subreport/Report Section Missing with Output To Command (112752)
The information in this article applies to:
This article was previously published under Q112752 SYMPTOMS
Advanced: Requires expert coding, interoperability, and multiuser skills.
When you use the Output To command to create an output file for a report
that contains a subreport, the output file is missing not only the
subreport, but also the entire report section in which you placed the
subreport.
CAUSE
The Output To command does not process a subreport contained in a report
(or a subform contained in a form). Moreover, if you use the Output To
command with a report that contains a subreport, neither the subreport nor
the report section in which you placed it are included in the output file.
RESOLUTION
To work around the problem, use one of the following methods:
- If you have the Generic/Text Only printer driver installed, you can use
the Print command to create an output file. To do so, choose Print from
the File menu. In the Print dialog box, select the Print To File check
box, and then choose the Setup button. In the Specific Printer box,
select Generic/Text. When you click the OK button to print the report,
the subreport data is included in the output file.
- You can open a subreport as a separate report, and then use the Output
To command to create a separate output file.
- You can remove the subreport from the report before you use the Output
To command.
STATUS
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft Access version
2.0. This problem no longer occurs in Microsoft Access version 7.0.
