The information in this article applies to:
This article was previously published under Q112718 SYMPTOMS
When fields that calculate values are placed in any merge document,
some or all of the values in the fields may display as zero ("0"). This
will occur if:
- The database associated with the merge document is closed.
-or-
- The database associated with the merge document is open, but
contains several thousand records.
RESOLUTION
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Works version 3.0 for
Windows. This problem was corrected in Works version 3.0a for Windows.
To correct the problem, the database must be opened, and, if the
database is large (that is, more than 2,000 records), you must
force each entry in the field containing the formula to recalculate
before printing.
To force a recalculation, use the following steps:
- Starting from the top, highlight each entry in the field containing
the formula.
- From the Edit menu, choose Fill Down.
The values in the merge document will now print correctly.
