Negative kerning fonts allow you to add diacritical (or accent) marks to
characters. Works 2.x for Windows will not display characters correctly
with some third-party fonts that support negative kerning (negative
spacing). Works 2.x places a space between the character with the accent
mark and the next character.
Works 3.0 for Windows will display these characters correctly, but may
not show the insertion point correctly if diacritical marks have been
added to characters on the same line.

Negative kerning allows multiple characters to occur in the same
location when you use two or more keystrokes. For example, a negative
kerning font allows you to type the letter "a" then add a tilde (~) as an
accent mark over the letter a. In Works 2.x, the font size must be
increased to see the effect on the screen. Also, Print Preview will
not display the font correctly; however, it will print properly.
Works 3.0 corrects the problem of spaces occurring between the characters
(although with some diacritical marks there may be a small space). In Works
3.0, the screen must be zoomed (about 150 percent) to see the font
correctly. The font can be viewed in Print Preview, but you may not be able
to zoom in to see the font closer. It will print correctly.
