This article was previously published under Q109296 SUMMARY
The AutoCorrect feature is a new feature in Word 6.0 for Windows that
automatically corrects common typing mistakes as you work. For example, if
you type "teh," AutoCorrect replaces it with "the" as soon as you press
SPACEBAR.
You can also use AutoCorrect to quickly insert words or phrases that are
long or difficult to type. For example, use AutoCorrect to automatically
replace "ASAP" with "as soon as possible." AutoCorrect entries are stored
in the NORMAL.DOT file.
NOTE: AutoCorrect entries that insert formatted text do not function in
document sections protected for forms.
