TITLE: ROM Image for Evo D310/D320/D510 and W4000 SFF DDR (686O2 ROM)

VERSION: 3.16 Rev. A
DESCRIPTION:
This SoftPaq creates files that contain a binary image for the System ROM for
the Evo Models with a 686O2 Family ROM. This SoftPaq is used to flash the
System ROM on target PCs on a network, and it requires System Software Manager
(SSM) or Remote Management Setup.

For Evo D310, D320, and W4000 SFF DDR models, this release is being implemented
in the
factory and will be shipped on new computers. For D510 models, this update will
not be
implemented in the factory and is made available on the web only, as a
maintenance release for Evo D510 customers that may be interested in the fixes
or enhancements made available in this version.

The ROM Family and ROM date can be determined by running the Setup Utility by
pressing F10 on the target computer during system power on of the computer, and
viewing File/System Information. This information can be saved into a text
file by selecting File/Save to Diskette.

HOW TO USE:

IMPORTANT NOTE:

If the target system is configured with a 3.06-GHz processor, Hyper-Threading
must be disabled before updating the BIOS using Windows-based flash tools,
HPQFlash or SSM. Otherwise,BIOS data integrity problems can occur. By default,
Hyper-Threading is disabled in F10 setup. To disable Hyper-Threading follow
these steps:

  1. Download the SoftPaq to a directory on your hard drive. The file downloaded is a self-extracting executable with a filename based on the SoftPaq Number above.
  2. Refer to the remote utility documentation for instructions on creating a Remote ROM Flash job to flash the System ROM on target PCs on the network.
