TITLE: ROM Image for D315 Business PC (686Y4 ROM) Remote ROM Flash

DESCRIPTION:
This SoftPaq creates files that contain a binary image for the System ROM for 
the Compaq models with a 686Y4 Family ROM.

This SoftPaq is used to flash the System ROM on target PCs on a network, and it 
requires Compaq System Software Manager (SSM) or Remote Management Setup.

The ROM Family and ROM date can be determined by running the Setup Utility by 
pressing F10 on the target computer during system power on of the computer, and 
viewing File/System Information.  This information can be saved into a text 
file by selecting File/Save to Diskette. 

This is an initial release.

ENHANCEMENTS: 
Adds POST error message if any single DIMM larger than 512MB is 
installed in the system.
Improves support for AMD B0 revision processors.
Removes Automatic Acoustic Management for IDE devices.  All IDE devices 
will be automatically set for maximum performance mode.

FIXES: 
Corrects APIC bus settings to prevent lockup issues.
Corrects WHQL failure related to clearing out PCI-2-PCI bridge interrupt 
register.
Corrects processor family identification.

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS: 
HOW TO USE: 

Download the SoftPaq to a directory on your hard drive.  The file 
downloaded is a self-extracting executable with a filename based on the SoftPaq 
Number above.

Refer to the remote utility documentation for instructions on creating a 
Remote ROM Flash job to flash the System ROM on target PCs on the network.

WARNING:  DO NOT TURN OFF POWER OR ATTEMPT TO REBOOT THE COMPUTER DURING THE 
UPGRADE PROCESS!!!
