DESCRIPTION:
This Softpaq creates .CAB files that contain a binary image for the System ROM
for Evo N400c Series notebooks with a 686AW Family ROM. The ROM Family and ROM
date can be determined by running F10 Setup. To flash (upgrade) the ROM image
remotely over a network with these .CAB files, you must use Remote Management
Software such as Compaq System Software Manager (SSM).

HOW TO USE:
1. Download the SoftPaq to a temporary, empty directory on your hard drive. The
file downloaded is a self-extracting executable with a filename based on the
SoftPaq Number above.
2. The BIOS/ROM image file must be used with Remote Management Software in
order to actually flash (upgrade) the ROM image on one of the affected Evo
notebooks.
3. When used with SSM, copy the SoftPaq to the file store.
4. When used with WINFLASH, run the SoftPaq to get the .cab file.
IMPORTANT: DO NOT TURN OFF POWER TO THE COMPUTER WHILE PERFORMING THIS
PROCEDURE!
