HOW TO USE:
1. Download the SoftPaq to a directory on your hard drive and change to that
directory. The file that is downloaded is a self-extracting executable with a
filename based on the SoftPaq Number above.
2. From that drive and directory, execute the downloaded file and follow the
on-screen instructions to unpack the files. You will be given the chance to
specify the target directory for the files, or default to the download
directory.
3. After the files have been unpacked, you may delete the
self-extracting file downloaded in step 1.
4. To install the driver you need, follow the instructions below, based on your
operating system.
WINDOWS 9X NIC DRIVER INSTALLATION:
-- For FIRST TIME installation of the NIC drivers.
1. If prompted by the New Hardware Wizard, point to the drive and directory
path chosen in step 2.
For example, Enter: [path]\Net82557.INF (i.e. C:\TEMP\Network\Net82557.INF)
2. Select OK and follow on-screen instructions.
-- For UPDATE to a newer version of the NIC drivers
1. Select start, settings, then control panel.
2. Double click the "System" icon.
3. From the Device Manager tab, Double click "Network Adapter".
4. Double click the Intel PRO/100 network adapter
5. From the Driver tab, select "Update Driver"
6. Choose "Select from a List ...", then select Next
7. When prompted, select "Have Disk"
8. Browse to or type in the directory path chosen in step 2.,
then select OK
9. Select the Intel PRO/100 network adapter from the device list,
select OK
10. Continue to follow on-screen instructions until Finished
11. When prompted, select to restart the computer
WINDOWS Me NIC DRIVER INSTALLATION:
-- For FIRST TIME installation of the NIC drivers
1. If prompted by the New Hardware Wizard, point to the drive and
directory path chosen in step 2.
For example, Enter: [path]\Net82557.INF (i.e. C:\TEMP\Network\Net82557.INF)
2. Select OK and follow on-screen instructions.
-- For UPDATE to a newer version of the NIC drivers
1. Select start, settings, then control panel.
2. Double click the "System" icon.
3. From the Device Manager tab, Double click "Network Adapter".
4. Double click the Intel PRO/100 network adapter
5. From the Driver tab, select "Update Driver"
6. Select "Specify the location ...", then select Next
7. Select "Display a list ...", then select Next
8. Select "Have Disk"
9. Browse to or type in the directory path chosen in step 2.,
then select OK
10.Select the Intel PRO/100 network adapter from the device list,
select OK
11. Continue to follow on-screen instructions until Finished
12. When prompted, select to restart the computer
Windows 2000 NIC DRIVER INSTALLATION:

9. Browse to or type in the directory path chosen in step 2.,
then select OK
10. Select the Intel PRO/100 network adapter from the device
list, select Next
11. Continue to follow on-screen instructions until Finished
12. Close network adapter properties, Device Manager, and Control Panel
Windows XP NIC DRIVER INSTALLATION (Default Menu Settings):

1. If prompted by the New Hardware Wizard, point to the drive
and directory path chosen in step 2.
For example, Enter: [path]\Net82557.INF (i.e. C:\TEMP\Network\Net82557.INF)
2. Select OK and follow on-screen instructions.
-- For UPDATE to a newer version of the NIC drivers
1. Select start, then control panel.
2. Double click "Network and Internet Connection".
3. Select the "Network Connection" Icon.
4. Double Click the "Local Area Network" Icon.
5. Select the "Configure" button.
6. Select the "Driver" tab.
7. Select the "Update Driver" button, then select Next.
8. Select "Install From A lIST...", then select Next
9. When prompted, select "Include this location in the search".
10. Browse to or type in the directory path, then select "Next"
11. Select the Intel PRO/100 network adapter from the device
list, select Next
12. Continue to follow on-screen instructions until Finished
13. Close network adapter properties, and Control Panel
Windows NT 4.0 NIC DRIVER INSTALLATION:
-- For FIST TIME installation of the NIC drivers
1. Select start, settings, then control panel.
2. Double click the "Network" icon.
3. If prompted to install Windows NT Networking, select Yes Otherwise skip to
step 19
4. Select "Wired to the network", then select Next
5. Select "Select from list ..."
6. Select "Have Disk"
7. Type in the directory path chosen in step 2, then select OK
8. Select the Intel PRO Adapter, then select OK
9. Select the Intel PRO Adapter from the list, deselect any other
adapters, then select Next
10.Select the appropriate network protocol(s) for your LAN
environment, then select Next
11.Select the appropriate network services for your LAN
environment, then select Next
12. Select Next to install the networking components
13. When prompted, type the drive designator for your Windows NT
operating system example C: (where C: is the designator for your hard drive)
14. Select the appropriate bindings for your LAN environment, then Select Next
15. Select Next to start the network.
16. Select your computer name and the appropriate workgroup/domain Information
for your LAN environment, then select Next
17. Select Finish
18. Select Yes to restart your computer

Windows NT Networking ----
19. From the Adapters tab, select Add
20. Select "Have Disk"
21. Type in the directory path chosen in step 2, then select OK
22. Select the Intel PRO Adapter, then select OK
20. Select Close
21. Select the appropriate IP addressing scheme for LAN
environment, then select OK
22. Select Yes to restart your computer

1. Select start, settings, then control panel.
2. Double click the "Network" icon.
3. From the Adapters tab, select the Intel PRO/100 network
adapter, then select Update
4. Type in the directory path chosen in step 2, then select Continue
