If Windows displays the "New Hardware" dialog box then proceed to the section titled: "Retail version of Windows 95". If Windows displays the "Update Device Drivers Install" wizard then proceed to the section titled: "OEM Version of Windows 95" Retail version of Windows 95 ---------------------------- 1. Windows 95 displays a dialog box indicating: "New Hardware Found - PCI Multimedia Device" Choose to install drivers from a disk provided by the hardware manufacturer. 2. Type the appropriate path to the Maximum DVD Windows 95 drivers (normally X:\win95, where X is the drive where you placed the Maximum DVD disk). Drivers will be copied to the appropriate directory. Click on the other locations button and type the appropriate path to the Maximum DVD Windows 95 drivers (normally X:\WIN95, where X is the drive where you place the Maximum DVD disk). Drivers will be copied to the appropriate directory. Navigator Installation ---------------------- 1. Once the hardware installation is complete, run the SETUP.EXE from the root of the Maximum DVD install CD. Follow the instructions on the screen to complete the installation of the Navigator software. Known Limitations ----------------- 1. Interlaced modes are not supported. 2. MPEG 1 audio is not yet supported. 3. Fast forward and reverse play are not yet supported. 4. Dual Layer disks are supported on the OEM version of Windows 95, but not on the release version. In the release version, you can only play movies on the first layer at this time. 5. On some systems, while adjusting the Volume level in the Navigator, you may get audio distortion. This issue is being investigated. 6. Do not run Scandisk or any power management utilities, such as screen savers while playing a movie. 7. Handle all DVDs very carefully and store in their original containers. Even slight smudges and finger prints can cause erratic behavior with movie and game playback.
