IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT THIS PATCH PROGRAM!

This patch program is meant to upgrade the English version of GEAR 4.01

for Diamond MM to GEAR 4.02. It will not upgrade any other versions of 

GEAR.



If you are running Windows 95, the patch program also installs the

GEARCDR.VXD driver in your Windows IOSUBSYS directory. This file is not

installed if you are running Windows NT.



GEAR 4.02 uses the GEARCDR.VXD driver to disable the autoinsert

notification property of your recorder. Failure to install this file may

cause buffer under runs during the recording process, resulting in an

unusable CD.



To upgrade your GEAR files, please follow these steps:

1) Make sure that you have installed the English version of GEAR 4.01 for

   Diamond MM on to your system.

2) Run the patch program by starting the UPGRADE.EXE program on this disk.

3) When prompted to specify which directory contains the GEAR files,

   make sure that you specify the correct directory (hint: the default

   install directory of GEAR is C:\Program Files\Gearw95 for Windows 95

   and C:\Program Files\GearwNT for Windows NT).

4) If you are running Windows 95, you will be asked if you want to install

   the GEARCDR.VXD driver onto your system, answer YES.
