Orchid Technology SoundWave 32 Driver Release v2.1 (for use with InVision ROM sets) --------------------------------------- The file you have downloaded, INVISN.EXE contains the complete files from the SoundWave 32 Install/Driver disk v2.1. This readme file contains instructions for making a SoundWave 32 driver disk, so you can install the drivers. You have already completed the first step, by unpacking the INVISN file and reading this. The v2.1 release is for use with SoundWave 32 boards that have the InVision ROM upgrade. If you are using the standard ROMS shipped on all SoundWave 32 boards, you should use the v1.4 drivers. That file is available on CompuServe (Go Orchid, library 10) and the Orchid BBS (in the SW32 library). The file name is SW32.EXE. If you would like more information about the InVision ROM update, please see the file INVISN.TXT, also available on CompuServe and the Orchid BBS in the libraries mentioned above. When you unpack INVISN.EXE you should have the following files: DISK ID 27 04-15-94 10:00a SW32 001 338296 04-15-94 10:00a INSTALL DAT 25142 04-11-94 10:00a INSTALL HLP 22238 04-11-94 10:00a SINSTALL EXE 109329 08-10-92 10:00a OEMSETUP INF 840 04-06-94 10:00a SW32 DR_ 37450 03-22-94 10:00a VSBD 38_ 2463 03-10-92 3:10a VSW32 38_ 10890 01-21-94 10:00a README 1ST 3779 08-03-95 Using your SoundWave 32 Drivers ------------------------------- 1. Copy all files (listed above) to a blank floppy disk. 2. Log onto your floppy drive and run the SINSTALL.EXE program to install the driver files to your hard drive. You should run SINSTALL.EXE from DOS, not from Windows. The SINSTALL.EXE program is menu driven, and fairly self explanatory. If you have questions during any part of the installation process, press the F1 key for context sensitive help, or see your SoundWave 32 manual for more information. Once you have completed SINSTALL, the driver installation is complete. You may need to reboot your system for changes to take effect. New features in the v2.1 disk release ------------------------------------- >> Lower the wavetable volume to minimize distortion. >> Add support for Microsoft Windows Sound System v2.0. >> A new feature on the SoundWave 32 Windows Mixer Console to turn the microphone input on or off. >> Incorporate volume control with 32 increments. >> Improve the DOS TSR program SWVOLUME.COM. >> Incorporate the latest version of MSACM.DRV file. >> Implement the OEMSETUP method for installing the SoundWave 32 Windows drivers.
