Orchid Technology GameWave 32 Plus Driver Release v3.0 --------------------------------------- The file you have downloaded, GWPLUS.EXE contains the complete files from the GameWave 32 Plus driver disk v3.0. This README.1ST file contains instructions for making a floppy installation disk, so you can install the new drivers. You have already completed the first step, by unpacking the GWPLUS.EXE file and reading this. This driver release is appropriate for the GameWave 32 Plus board. If you have the original GameWave 32 board this driver set is not appropriate for your board. You should use the driver set called GW32.EXE. If you have the original GameWave 32 and have upgraded your ROMs to the InVision ROM set, this driver is not appropriate for your board. You should use the driver set called GWINV.EXE. When you unpack GWPLUS.EXE you should have the following files and subdirectory: disk.id 32 2-16-95 3:00a install.dat 21,000 2-17-95 3:00a install.hlp 25,940 2-17-95 3:00a ginstall.exe 109,329 8-10-92 3:00a oemsetup.inf 857 1-18-95 3:00a sw32.dr_ 37,456 12-06-94 3:00a vsbd.38_ 2,463 3-10-92 3:00a vsw32.38_ 10,890 1-21-94 3:00a readme.1st 5,949 8-03-95 gw32plus\corelcdx.com 20,486 5-13-93 3:00a gw32plus\dmixer.exe 183,024 12-15-94 3:00a gw32plus\gw32.ini 284 2-16-95 3:00a gw32plus\games.pif 545 12-15-93 3:00a gw32plus\genmid.ld 39,925 10-11-94 3:00a gw32plus\gw32.exe 47,533 2-09-95 3:00a gw32plus\imaadpcm.acm 14,512 3-03-94 3:00a gw32plus\mcicda.drv 13,824 3-10-92 3:00a gw32plus\midimap.cfg 35,689 1-19-95 3:00a gw32plus\midimap.drv 52,784 3-10-92 3:00a gw32plus\soundwav.mid 66,955 5-11-94 3:00a gw32plus\mpu401.drv 7,088 3-10-92 3:00a gw32plus\msacm.dll 49,616 11-19-93 3:00a gw32plus\msacm.drv 22,816 11-29-94 3:00a gw32plus\msadlib.drv 22,064 3-10-92 3:00a gw32plus\msadpcm.acm 15,104 11-19-93 3:00a gw32plus\mtmcdas.sys 10,618 9-03-93 3:00a gw32plus\orcdde.dll 3,296 4-13-93 3:00a gw32plus\orchid.wav 32,356 12-06-93 3:00a gw32plus\orchinst.dat 174 12-09-94 3:00a gw32plus\orchinst.exe 6,048 4-13-93 3:00a gw32plus\slcd.sys 38,256 1-07-94 3:00a gw32plus\sw32.drv 62,800 12-06-94 3:00a gw32plus\sw32.hlp 24,150 12-07-94 3:00a gw32plus\sw32mxr.exe 31,936 12-08-94 3:00a gw32plus\sw32mxr.hlp 35,995 12-07-94 3:00a gw32plus\swcd.sys 5,808 9-14-93 3:00a gw32plus\threed.vbx 64,544 4-28-93 3:00a gw32plus\vadlibd.386 5,542 3-10-92 3:00a gw32plus\volume.com 2,393 12-01-94 3:00a gw32plus\vsbd.386 5,650 3-10-92 3:00a gw32plus\vsw32.386 22,258 1-21-94 3:00a gw32plus\wmidi.exe 129,232 12-06-94 3:00a gw32plus\wmidi.hlp 47,700 12-07-94 3:00a gw32plus\mqsystem.dll 29,686 3-31-94 3:00a Installing the New Driver ------------------------- 1. The installer program (GINSTALL.EXE) should be run from a floppy disk. If you didn't unpack GWPLUS.EXE to a floppy disk then do so now. The packed file has a subdirectory embedded in it. In order to unpack and create the subdirectory you'll need to use the "-d" option when unpacking the files. For example: GWPLUS A: -d NOTE: If your floppy drive letter is not "A:" then substitute the appropriate drive letter. 2. Log onto your floppy drive and run the GINSTALL.EXE program to install the driver files to your hard drive. You should run GINSTALL.EXE from DOS, not from Windows. The GINSTALL.EXE program is menu driven, and fairly self explanatory. If you have questions during any part of the installation process, press the F1 key for context sensitive help. Once you have completed GINSTALL, the driver installation is complete. You may need to reboot your system for changes to take effect. Troubleshooting --------------- 1. The main question Orchid Technical Support receives about this driver installation is regarding proper unpacking of the GWPLUS.EXE file. If the utilities don't seem to be installing correctly please review step number 1 in the previous section titled "Installing the New Driver" for instructions on unpacking the GWPLUS.EXE file. If the subdirectory embedded in the file isn't unpacked correctly the drivers won't install properly.
