Orchid Technology GameWave 32 Installation Instructions for MS Windows 95 August 1995 ------------------------------------------- This readme file will help you install the original GameWave32 into Microsoft Windows 95. If you have a GameWave 32Plus board, these instructions do not apply to you. You should download GWPLUS95.TXT. You must have the latest drivers from Orchid Technology for the GameWave 32, otherwise you may experience problems in Windows 95. As of August 1995, the current driver versions for the GameWave 32 are 1.4 for the stock ProSonus wavetable ROM set, and 2.2 for the aftermarket upgrade InVision wavetable ROM set. (For more information about the InVision ROM upgrade, download the file INVISN.TXT.) There are two scenarios for GameWave 32 Win 95 installation: 1. GameWave 32 was installed into Windows 3.1x, then the operating system was upgraded to Windows 95. Windows 95 will automatically update the appropriate files and no additional configuration should be done (with respect to the sound card). 2. The GameWave 32 is being installed into a machine where Windows 95 is already installed. The following instructions will only cover case number 2, where Windows 95 has already been installed on a system. Currently, it is recommended that you use the Multimedia utilities that ship with Windows 95 since the Orchid Technology utilities are 16-bit and may run slowly under Windows 95. To change the volume for the GameWave32 you will need to adjust the volume control dial that is located on the back of the card. 4. The GameWave32 is not designed with recording capability, therefore, the Audio Recorder program that ships with Windows 95 may generate an error message.
