Category Tags: defect_repair general_release critical Path Name: /hp-ux_patches/s700_800/11.X/PHKL_31451 Symptoms: PHKL_31451: ( SR:8606366158 CR:JAGaf26787 ) An application with many shared memory regions (greater than 32) may experience severe performance degradation. Defect Description: PHKL_31451: ( SR:8606366158 CR:JAGaf26787 ) The problem occurs due to a protection key cache size limitation in IPF. Due to this, most of the protection key faults are passed on to higher level fault handlers instead of being handled by lower level handlers. This causes applications to consume a lot of system time and hence they experience a performance degradation. Resolution: The protection key cache size is increased to handle the performance degradation.
