The PCI devices involved are those that are located underneath a PCI-to-PCI bridge and request 64-bit address ranges. This problem is known to be exposed with the SA6404 Raid card and the AB286A Infiniband card. The problem will also be exposed with any future cards that are 64-bit capable and are beneath a PCI-to-PCI bridge or have such a bridge built-in. Defect Description: PHKL_31226: ( SR:8606346047 CR:JAGaf06874 ) Certain cards, when underneath PCI-to-PCI bridges (or containing built-in bridges), will not have addresses assigned to their 64-bit PCI BAR registers. This assignment does not occur because HP-UX only supports 32-bit address ranges for PCI devices beneath PCI-to-PCI bridges. Resolution: The resolution for this problem is to always assign 32-bit addresses to a device's Base Address Registers (BARs) if it is below a PCI-to-PCI Bridge. These devices do not benefit from being assigned 64-bit addresses. In addition, enough 32-bit address ranges exist for assignment to all our devices.
