Patch Name: PHKL_24872 Patch Description: s700_800 11.20 break instruction operand not in siginfo_t Creation Date: 01/08/23 Post Date: 01/09/14 Hardware Platforms - OS Releases: s700: 11.20 s800: 11.20 Products: N/A Filesets: OS-Core.CORE2-KRN,fr=B.11.20,fa=HP-UX_B.11.20_64,v=HP Automatic Reboot?: Yes Status: General Release Critical: No Category Tags: defect_repair general_release Path Name: /hp-ux_patches/s700_800/11.X/PHKL_24872 Symptoms: PHKL_24872: ( SR:8606204443 CR:JAGad73625 ) On IA-64 systems, the siginfo_t structure passed to a SIGILL signal handler does not have the specified break instruction immediate operand in the si_imm member. Defect Description: PHKL_24872: ( SR:8606204443 CR:JAGad73625 ) The "Signal Handling on HP-UX" supplement to the IA-64 Runtime Architecture specifies that for break instructions with immediate operands in the range 0x40000-0x7ffff, the si_imm member of the siginfo_t structure will contain the value of the immediate operand. However, the structure passed to signal handlers for SIGILL signals incorrectly leaves this value out. Resolution: The break instruction handling mechanism was updated so the immediate operand of a break instruction is now copied into the siginfo_t structure.
