Defect Description: PHKL_24856: ( SR:8606199562 CR:JAGad68749 ) If a 32-bit EXEC_MAGIC user program loops through a range of addresses (E.g. : 3ffff000 to 40007000) that span across an region boundary, the program will abort with SIGSEGV. When a pointer is incremented in a loop, the compiler converts the first 32-bit address to a 64-bit address and part of the conversion records the region selector bits. To save time, all increments to that pointer just add to the 64-bit value and do not update the region selector bits. The SIGSEGV occurs because the virtual memory fault handler was not handling this boundary condition. Resolution: The virtual memory fault handler was updated to check for region selector bits for the boundary condition. The program will no longer get SIGSEGV.
