The default dump type is a selective or partial dump. The customer must hit a key on the keyboard to select another option. On systems with USB keyboards the keyboard has been disable and the customer is unable to select another option. Based upon PHKL_20172: ( SR: 8606107634 DTS: JAGab15364 ) On certain systems, a message will be printed to the console, indicating that an error may have occurred while resetting dump devices. Despite this, the dump completes sucessfully. Defect Description: PHKL_22817: Ported HP-UX Patch PHKL_20989 to VVOS Based upon PHKL_20989: ( SR: 8606109719 DTS: JAGab82419 ) A system dump can be initiated either by pressing the Transfer Of Control (TOC) button or by a system panic. Two different firmware requests have been mapped to the same firmware entry point and that entry point is used during a dump. On some workstations (ie. C3000, J5000) the firmware will disable the USB keyboard when the firmware request is made. Resolution: The HP-UX kernel will avoid a particular firmware call during a dump when running on particular systems with USB keyboards. Based upon PHKL_20172: ( SR: 8606107634 DTS: JAGab15364 ) A return code from a PDC call was incorrectly interpreted. This caused some systems to believe there may have been a problem while resetting dump devices. Resolution: Correct the interpretation of the return code to indicate failure only when there is an actual failure.
