For example, "ioscan -kf" would take around 13+ minutes on a SuperDome system with 8000+ disks. Defect Description: PHCO_24198: 1.( SR: 8606199426 CR: JAGad68613 ) "ioscan -k" makes a discrete system call for each device on the system. With a large system configuration, the number of context switches between user space and the kernel would be very large, resulting in a long execution time for the command. Resolution: New interfaces have been implemented in the kernel to enable getting information for many devices through one system call. "ioscan" now uses these new interfaces delivered by kernel patch PHKL_24163 (or patches superseding it).
