Patch Name: PHCO_22263 Patch Description: s700_800 11.00 XCurses cumulative patch Creation Date: 00/08/25 Post Date: 00/08/29 Hardware Platforms - OS Releases: s700: 11.00 s800: 11.00 Products: N/A Filesets: OS-Core.CORE-64SLIB,fr=B.11.00,fa=HP-UX_B.11.00_32/64,v=HP OS-Core.CORE-SHLIBS,fr=B.11.00,fa=HP-UX_B.11.00_32/64,v=HP Automatic Reboot?: No Status: General Release Critical: No Category Tags: defect_repair general_release Path Name: /hp-ux_patches/s700_800/11.X/PHCO_22263 Symptoms: PHCO_22263: 1> mvaddstr(3X) doesn't update the screen and cursor position correctly if "A_BOLD" is set and LANG is set to a multibyte locale. PHCO_20075: 1> X/Open curses from PHCO_16847 ignores smacs/rmacs entries of the terminfo database even if no sgr entry is present in the terminfo database of the terminal. PHCO_16847: 1> 11.00 X/Open curses application dumps core when it is compiled with +FPI option. 2> initscr() dumps core when TERM environment variable is too long. 3> Curses attribute functions do not work properly with libxcurses.1 PHCO_13316: This patch fixes the following two problems : 1> The delwin() coredumps in some cases. 2> The seperators between the softlabels disappear. Defect Description: PHCO_22263: 1> mvaddstr() calls mvcur() to move the cursor on the screen. mvcur() API is not calculating the cursor position correctly for multi-byte locales. Resolution: mvcur() API code is changed to handle the cursor position correctly. PHCO_20075: 1> When no sgr entry is present, Xcurses should look for the smacs/rmacs entries of the terminfo database to set the A_ALTCHARSET (Alternate Character Set) mode for the terminal. This was not happening with the previous patch. Resolution: If sgr entry is present in the terminfo database, follow that to set the A_ALTCHARSET mode. Otherwise use smacs/ rmacs entry. PHCO_16847: 1> 11.00 X/curses library employs inexact floating point operations when a curses application is compiled with +FPI option. 2> initscr() dumps core when the TERM environment variable is too long. This is due to a buffer overflow in the routine. 3> X/Open curses do not take care of the 'sgr' entry of the terminfo database, if the ceol_standout_glitch and the magic_cookie_glitch are set in the database. This results in display attributes not being properly set on terminals like hpterm. PHCO_13316: The following defects have been addressed by this patch : DSDe440030 : The call to delwin() coredumps in some remote cases. This is basically because of a buffer overflow in the library. DSDe439831 : The seperators between the softlabels disappear. This problem is was caused because of the truncation of the softlabels that exceed the length-limit (8) SR: 5003469981 5003435735 5003424093 4701407213 4701376103 4701376095 8606141760 Patch Files: OS-Core.CORE-64SLIB,fr=B.11.00,fa=HP-UX_B.11.00_32/64,v=HP: /usr/lib/pa20_64/libxcurses.1 OS-Core.CORE-SHLIBS,fr=B.11.00,fa=HP-UX_B.11.00_32/64,v=HP: /usr/lib/libxcurses.1 what(1) Output: OS-Core.CORE-SHLIBS,fr=B.11.00,fa=HP-UX_B.11.00_32/64,v=HP: /usr/lib/libxcurses.1: /usr/lib/libcurses: $Revision: 82.289.1.7 $ OS-Core.CORE-64SLIB,fr=B.11.00,fa=HP-UX_B.11.00_32/64,v=HP: /usr/lib/pa20_64/libxcurses.1: /usr/lib/libcurses: $Revision: 82.289.1.7 $ cksum(1) Output: OS-Core.CORE-SHLIBS,fr=B.11.00,fa=HP-UX_B.11.00_32/64,v=HP: 2101848445 315392 /usr/lib/libxcurses.1 OS-Core.CORE-64SLIB,fr=B.11.00,fa=HP-UX_B.11.00_32/64,v=HP: 2108668795 328288 /usr/lib/pa20_64/libxcurses.1 Patch Conflicts: None Patch Dependencies: None Hardware Dependencies: None Other Dependencies: None Supersedes: PHCO_13316 PHCO_16847 PHCO_20075 Equivalent Patches: None Patch Package Size: 650 KBytes Installation Instructions: Please review all instructions and the Hewlett-Packard SupportLine User Guide or your Hewlett-Packard support terms and conditions for precautions, scope of license, restrictions, and, limitation of liability and warranties, before installing this patch. ------------------------------------------------------------ 1.
