Patch Name: PHCO_18901 Patch Description: s700_800 11.00 extendfs_hfs fix for large file systems Creation Date: 99/06/18 Post Date: 99/06/25 Hardware Platforms - OS Releases: s700: 11.00 s800: 11.00 Products: N/A Filesets: LVM.LVM-RUN,fr=B.11.00,fa=HP-UX_B.11.00_32/64,v=HP Automatic Reboot?: No Status: General Release Critical: Yes PHCO_18901: CORRUPTION Category Tags: defect_repair general_release critical corruption Path Name: /hp-ux_patches/s700_800/11.X/PHCO_18901 Symptoms: PHCO_18901: When using extendfs_hfs to enlarge a file system with a fragment size that is not 1K bytes, the directory of the mount point becomes corrupted. This causes the error message ". not found" to be issued when an attempt is made to mount the file system. Defect Description: PHCO_18901: When the 'cylinder group summary information' needs to be re-written (due to an increase in size), the incorrect number of fragments required is calculated when the fragment size is not 1K bytes. This causes the data in the first data block, which includes the current directory entry "." in the mount directory, to be lost. Resolution: The correct number of fragments required is calculated, regardless of the fragment size.
