Patch Name: PHCO_18093 Patch Description: s700_800 11.00 fsadm_vxfs(1M) cumulative patch Creation Date: 99/04/07 Post Date: 99/04/20 Hardware Platforms - OS Releases: s700: 11.00 s800: 11.00 Products: N/A Filesets: JournalFS.VXFS-BASE-RUN,fr=B.11.00,fa=HP-UX_B.11.00_32/64,v=HP Automatic Reboot?: No Status: General Release Critical: No Category Tags: defect_repair general_release Path Name: /hp-ux_patches/s700_800/11.X/PHCO_18093 Symptoms: PHCO_18093: There are two problems addressed by this patch: 1)The directory re-organization report is in error. The information displayed in the column titled "Blocks to Reduce" is incorrect. 2)Directory re-organization fails with errno 16. The errno is only visible if you use the -vs option with the -d option. Defect Description: PHCO_18093: 1)The directory reorganization report (-D option) displays erroneous data for the "Blocks to Reduce" field. 2)fsadm fails to re-organize (-d option) directories which span more than 16k. The errno is only visible if you use the verbose (-v option) mode. The directory reorganize routine sorts directories two blocks at at time. If the second block is updated, then during the next iteration of the loop, fsadm detects the change and returns EBUSY thinking the directory was being modified by another process. Resolution: 1)The loop which traverses the filesystem blocks was not being incremented correctly. 2)The directory offset is increased by one every time there is a successful reorg ioctl involving two blocks.
