Symptoms:
        PHNE_9727:
           The patch PHNE_3987 is incomplete. One of the
           files was not delivered. Due to this, the user
           will not be able to trace any data. This patch
           essentially replaces the patch PHNE_3987.

        PHNE_3987:
           NetTL supports tracing and logging for streams
           x25. It also allows tracing/formatting 67K buffers.

Defect Description:
        PHNE_9727:
           The problem occured could have been detected by
           throughly testing the patch. One of the files
           /etc/ntl_reader was not provided with the patch
           PHNE_3987.

        PHNE_3987:
           1.This patch will trace and format a message up
             to 67,000 bytes. This size should meet the needs
             for HIPPI, Fiber Channel, and ATM drivers.

           2.This patch will support tracing for streams
             x25 driver, namely subsystem SX25L2 and SX25L3.

        1. Back up your system before installing a patch.

        2. Copy the patch to your /tmp directory and unshar it:

                cd /tmp
                cp patch_source/PHNE_9727 .
                sh PHNE_9727

        3. Become root and run update:

                /etc/update [-r [kernel_gen_file]] -s \
                        /tmp/PHNE_9727.updt PHNE_9727

        Update moves the original software to
        /system/PHNE_9727/orig.  Keep this file to recover from any
        potential problems.  You should move the .text file to
        /system/PHNE_9727 for future reference.

        To put this patch on a magnetic tape and update from the
        tape drive, use dd:

                dd if=PHNE_9727.updt of=/dev/rmt/0m bs=2048
