        PHCO_5197:
        - 100VG interface cards show up as Ethernet cards.
        - New tape drives C1533A and C1553A are not recognized.
        - New disk drives QUANTUM VP31110 and QUANTUM VP32210
          are not recognized.
        - New MO autochanger "Sunspot" is not recognized.
        - Disk arrays with LU numbers greater than 9 are not
          recognized.

        PHCO_4793:
        - Printer model list is not scrollable.
        - Entering printer areas on a cluster client results in
          an Architectural Error.
        - Unable to display list of printers through SAM.
        - SAM produces a value for maxssize larger than allowed.
        - SAM deletes "+" NIS entry in /etc/group.
        - When removing a user and assigning the user's files to
          another user, selecting which user to assign the files to
          results in SAM trying to use a full name as a user id.
        - In alpha terminal mode, the password is not hidden when
          adding a user.
        - On some vt100 terminal emulators, SAM treats the terminal
          as being only 1 line high.
        - After running the alpha terminal version of SAM, files
          are left lying around with names like IDMERROR.ttyxx.
        - Network login area core dumps when more than
          100 users are configured.
        - Remote Admin functions are not available.

        PHSS_4476:
        - SAM alters tftp entries incorrectly in /etc/inetd.conf.

Defect Description:
        PHCO_5197:
        - New peripherals and interface cards were introduced.
        - The previous patch used an incorrect tag.
        - A user-selectable parameter wasn't checked for an upper
          limit.

        PHCO_4793:
        - Printer model list is not scrollable.
          * Incorrect entry in /usr/sam/lib/C/lp.ui.

        - Entering printer areas on a cluster client results in
          an Architectural Error.
          * Missing line in /usr/sam/lib/C/lp.ui:
            library "/usr/sam/lib/nnc/nnc.sl"

        - Unable to display list of printers through SAM.
          * /usr/sam/bin/lpinfo.sh produces a string with the names
            of all the printers.  This string is too long.

        - SAM produces a value for maxssize larger than allowed.
          * Value of MAXXSIZE in params.tx changed from 0x17F00000
            to 0x04FB3000 while values for MAXTSIZ and MAXDSIZ
            increased.

        - SAM deletes "+" NIS entry in /etc/group.
          * Code was written to handle "+group", but not "+" alone.

        - When removing a user and assigning the user's files to
          another user, selecting which user to assign the files to
          results in SAM trying to use a full name as a user id.
          * String returned from dialog was not parsed correctly.

        - In alpha terminal mode, the password is not hidden when
          adding a user.
          * Error in dialog manager.

        - On some vt100 terminal emulators, SAM treats the terminal
          as being only 1 line high.
          * SAM puts the cursor at position 999,999 and asks the
            terminal to report the cursor position.  Some vt100
            emulators report this incorrectly, and SAM doesn't
            default to a sensible value.

        PHSS_4476:
        - SAM alters tftp entries incorrectly in /etc/inetd.conf.
          * The default action was chosen incorrectly.

        ------------------------------------------------------------
        1. Back up your system before installing a patch.

        2. Copy the patch to your /tmp directory and unshar it:

                cd /tmp
                cp patch_source/PHCO_5197 .
                sh PHCO_5197

        3. Become root and run update:

                /etc/update

        4. Use the cursor keys to select "Change Source or
           Destination ->" and press [Return].

        5. Select "From Tape Device to Local System ..."
           in the Change window and

        6. Change "Source: /dev/rmt/0m" to
           "Source: /tmp/PHCO_5197.updt"

        7. Press "Done" (f4).

        8. Follow the standard directions for update.

        Update moves the original software to
        /system/PHCO_5197/orig.  Keep this file to recover from any
        potential problems.  You should move the .text file to
        /system/PHCO_5197 for future reference.

        To put this patch on a magnetic tape and update from the
        tape drive, use dd:

                dd if=PHCO_5197.updt of=/dev/rmt/0m bs=2048
