Patch Name: PHSS_4197 Patch Description: s300_400 9.X UIM/X 2.5 Binary Periodic Patch The following patch lists are provided by the developer of UIM/X, Visual Edge, Inc. All problems described in both PATCH LEVEL 2 and PATCH LEVEL 3 are fixed by this patch. If you have the UIM/X Library Source product (so you can customize UIM/X), you should also get and install PHSS_4198. PATCH LEVEL - 2 - On SunOS 4.1.3 platform, UIM/X no longer crashes by entering a very long string with '\n' characters in the Text property in the Property Editor. - On all platforms where UIM/X is integrated with SoftBench, libuxcustom.a can be rebuilt with SoftBench turned off. - UIM/X generated applications on Solaris 2.2 no longer crash if UxPutLabelString() is called. - Fixed large memory leak in UIM/X and generated applications caused by not freeing memory allocated by UxPutLabelString() in UxFreeXValue() on Data General platform . - On HP platforms, when generating code and then saving interfaces, the interfaces files ARE saved. - On HP platforms, a sub-process application properly displays huge multi-byte text when reading output from the pty. PATCH LEVEL - 3 - affects only HP platforms only - Unquoted multibyte strings parsed by the interpreter no longer causes UIM/X to hang. - Multibyte strings passed as arguments to UxCreateSubproc() and UxExecSubproc() are no longer mangled when passed to the subprocess. - UxExpandEnv() now accepts the underscore '_' and dash '-' characters in the string argument. - The "Module" label and its mnemonic "M" in the interpreter window's menu bar was previously missing in the message catalog. Message set # 35 46 "Module" 47 "M" - The "Class Editor ..." label and its mnemonic "t" in the selected widget popup menu messages originally inserted into the middle of the message set in the uimx2_5.msg catalog. These have been moved to the end of the set and messages 57 through 71 were renumbered to start at 55 and end at 69. Message set # 39 previous # new # ---------- ----- 57 55 "As well as deleting the selected widgets, all dynamically\n\ created widgets in the interface will be reset or destroyed.\n\ Would you like to continue?" $ This is a query, it is not prefixed by a message number. $ This message is NO LONGER USED 58 56 "Do you want to delete the selected widgets?\n" $ $ The previous message MS_WPU_DEL_SEL_WDGT_Q is no longer used. 59 57 "Selected Widgets" 60 58 "Declarations ..." 61 59 "D" 62 60 "Translations ..." 63 61 "T" $ $ Revised mnemonic 64 62 "s" 65 63 "T/B Center (Y)" 66 64 "Y" $ "T/B" stands for Top/Bottom, as in the ALIGN_TOP and ALIGN_BOTTOM messages. $ The (Y) in parenthesis corresponds to the "Y" mnemonic $ It indicates the Y direction in a standard x-y coordinate system. 67 65 "L/R Center (X)" 68 66 "X" $ "L/R" stands for Left/Right, as in the ALIGN_LEFT and ALIGN_RIGHT messages. $ The (X) in parenthesis corresponds to the "X" mnemonic $ It indicates the X direction in a standard x-y coordinate system. $ $ Revised message 69 67 "Property Editor ..." 70 68 "Methods ..." 71 69 "h" 55 70 "Class Editor ..." 56 71 "t" Path Name: /hp-ux_patches/s300_400/9.X/PHSS_4197 Effective Date: 940519 OS Release: 9.00 9.03 Reboot Required: No Patch Files: /usr/uimx2.5/README /usr/uimx2.5/bin/uimx /usr/uimx2.5/config/make.tem /usr/uimx2.5/config/uilmake.tem /usr/uimx2.5/config/xtmake.tem /usr/uimx2.5/custom/src/UxSbinit.c /usr/uimx2.5/custom/src/user-misc.c /usr/uimx2.5/lib/libuimx.a /usr/uimx2.5/lib/libuxcustom.a /usr/uimx2.5/lib/libuxgui.a /usr/uimx2.5/lib/libuxinterp.a /usr/uimx2.5/lib/libuxswidget.a /usr/uimx2.5/lib/ux_core.o /usr/uimx2.5/mkinclude/central.mk /usr/uimx2.5/msg/C/uimx2_5.cat /usr/uimx2.5/msg/C/uimx2_5.msg /usr/uimx2.5/newconfig/app-defaults/Uimx2_5 /usr/uimx2.5/release_notes /usr/uimx2.5/release_notes.ps SR#: 5003163261 "what" string/timestamp: README: Uimx2_5: UxSbinit.c: central.mk: libuimx.a: UIM/X [2.5] PATCH_2 - libuimx.a $Revision: 1.9 $ $Date: 94/05/19 14:17:56 $ libuxcustom.a: UIM/X [2.5] PATCH_2 - libuxcustom.a $Revision: 1.9 $ $Date: 94/05/19 14:17:56 $ libuxgui.a: UIM/X [B.02.50] PATCH_3 - libuxgui.a $Revision: 1.9 $ $Date: 94/05/19 14:17:56 $ libuxinterp.a: UIM/X [B.02.50] PATCH_3 - libuxinterp.a $Revision: 1.9 $ $Date: 94/05/19 14:17:56 $ libuxswidget.a: UIM/X [B.02.50] PATCH_3 - libuxswidget.a $Revision: 1.9 $ $Date: 94/05/19 14:17:56 $ make.tem: release_notes: release_notes.ps: uilmake.tem: uimx: UIM/X [B.02.50] PATCH_3 - uimx $Revision: 1.9 $ $Date: 94/05/19 14:17:56 $ REV: 921105, 9000/385 HP-UX B.08.00 build@release EK: $Date: 94/05/19 14:17:56 $ REV: 931220.141525, 9000/380 HP-UX B.09.00 masonbld@hpfcbtj uimx2_5.cat: UIM/X 2.1Uimx2_1Uimx2_1.uimxdir@(#) UIM/X 2.1 : uimx - User Interface Management System for X @(#) UIM/X 2.1 : uxcgen - C Code Generator@(#) UIM/X 2.1 : uxreaduil - UIL translator@(#) UIM/X 2.1 : keygen - Key Generator@(#) UIM/X 2.1 : serverd - Server DaemonUimx2_5Uimx2_5.uimxdirUimx2_5021 The widget does not exist. To install this patch do the following: 1) Run /etc/update (Note: you must be logged in as root to update a system). 2) Once in the update "Main Menu" move the highlighted line to "Change Source or Destination ->" and press "Return" or "Select Item". 3) Make sure the highlighted item in the "Change Source or Destination" window is "From Tape Device to Local System ...", then press "Return" or "Select Item". 4) You should now be in the "From Tape Device to Local System" window. Change the "Source: /dev/rmt/0m" to "Source: /tmp/PHSS_4197.updt" (this assumes that you are in the /tmp directory where PHSS_4197.updt has been placed). Note: You must enter the complete path name. 5) Press "Done". 6) From here on follow the standard directions for update. The customized script that update runs will move the original software to /system/PHSS_4197/orig. HP recommends keeping this software there in order to recover from any potential problems. It is also recommended that you move the PHSS_4197.text file to /system/PHSS_4197 to be retained for future reference. If you wish to put this patch on a magnetic tape and update from the tape drive, dd a copy of the patch to the tape drive.
